Privacy Policy for jDM

Last Updated: 23 October 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how Sientosh ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with our macOS application jDM (the "Product"). By using jDM, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please discontinue using jDM. For any questions or concerns, contact us at privacy@sientosh.com.

1. Definitions

  • "jDM" refers to the macOS application developed by Sientosh for managing downloads.
  • "Personal Data" means any information that can be used to identify you, such as login credentials or other identifiers.
  • "Product" means the jDM application, updates, and related features.
  • "You" or "User" means the individual using jDM.

2. Information We Collect

jDM is designed to run locally on your device. We do not collect or store personal data such as names, emails, payment details, or authentication credentials on our servers. Any login credentials or tokens you configure are securely stored on your device and used only for connecting to services you specify.

Technical data such as macOS version, device type, and crash reports may be collected through Apple’s distribution systems (e.g., App Store, Crash Reporter) under Apple’s privacy policy.

3. Download Logs

jDM automatically generates and stores temporary download logs on your device to track the progress and status of your downloads. These logs may include technical information such as file names, download URLs, timestamps, and error codes. Logs are kept locally for a short period of time and are automatically deleted by the application without any manual action required from you.

These logs are never transmitted to Sientosh or stored on our servers. However, you may choose to export a specific log file and share it with us voluntarily for troubleshooting or support purposes. In such cases, you are solely in control of whether and when these logs are shared.

4. How We Use Information

Because we do not transmit personal data to our servers, we do not use your information for analytics, advertising, or profiling. Any data you configure in jDM is used only by the app to execute download requests as directed by you.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to third parties. Data entered into jDM remains on your device and is not accessible to Sientosh.

You are fully responsible for the files you download and for complying with copyright laws or third-party terms of service.

6. Third-Party Services

jDM may interact with third-party servers or services as directed by you. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third-party services. You should review their privacy policies before providing credentials or accessing their content through jDM.

7. Data Security

Credentials and sensitive data stored within jDM remain on your device. We recommend strong passwords, secure system settings, and keeping macOS updated to reduce security risks. While we implement safeguards, no software is entirely immune from vulnerabilities.

8. Data Retention

We do not retain personal data on our servers. All data configured in jDM (credentials, history, downloads) remains on your device. If you uninstall jDM, that data is permanently removed unless you back it up locally.

9. Children’s Privacy

jDM is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us so we can remove it.

10. End-User Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of jDM complies with applicable laws. Downloading copyrighted or illegal content without authorization is prohibited. By using jDM, you acknowledge that you bear full liability for such actions.

11. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability

jDM is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Sientosh disclaims all responsibility for any loss, damage, or legal claims arising from your use of the Product.

12. Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required by law or court order, or if disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, users, or the public.

13. International Use

jDM can be used globally, but since no personal data is collected or transferred by us, cross-border data issues are not applicable. Your interactions with third-party services are subject to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of jDM after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.

15. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our practices regarding jDM, please contact us or email us at privacy@sientosh.com.
